GSGI wants the best for our girls and volunteers. It is important that everyone is safe at all times, whether it is a troop meeting, a field trip, or camping adventure. When planning events other than meetings, be sure to check out the Safety Activity Checkpoints  


Why First Aid/CPR/AED certification?  

To be prepared! This training covers a variety of accidents that can happen from minor to serious cuts, from choking, to being unresponsive.  

GSGI Hosted Courses  

GSGI hosts Blended learning of First Aid/CPR/AED training throughout the course of the year. These trainings are led by American Red Cross instructors.  

What is Blended Learning? 

Blended Learning consists of watching a series of video modules in the comfort of your own home then attending a in person session for the skills portion of the training.  

Can my Service Unit request CPR Training?  

Yes! If your Service Unit has at least 10 people for the training, we can work on scheduling a date and time and get registration on our website.  

Can girls participate in First Aid/CPR/AED training?  

Girls can take First Aide/CPR/AED training at the age of 14.  

What if I am already certified?  

Send an email to info@gsiowa.org with a picture of your valid CPR certification – we will add it to your record and troop!
