Gearing Up for the Cookie Program!

Cookies are coming! February may seem far away, but it will be here before we know it. We want to make sure you and your troops are prepared (and excited) when the program starts — here’s a breakdown of some resources to get you and your Girl Scouts started.

Volunteer Trainings

This year, we’re once again offering several convenient training webinar opportunities that you can attend right from the comfort (and warmth) of home.

Cookie Program Basics (for New Volunteers): This live webinar will give new Troop Product Managers (TPMs) an introduction to the Cookie Program. All volunteers are welcome — register using the links below!

  • December 10 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.
  • December 11 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.
  • December 12 from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m.
  • A recording of this training will be added to this post on The Bridge by December 19.

Cookie Program Refresh (for Returning Volunteers): This recorded training offers a brief breakdown of what’s new this year.

Service Unit Product Chair Training: This training is designed to provide Service Unit Product Chairs (SUPCs) with the information and support you need in order to help the troops in your area have a successful program. If you missed the SUPC training earlier this month (or if you would like a refresher), you can view the recorded version on our Volunteer Learning Portal.

Cookie Kick-Offs

Did you know that Girl Scouts who attend the awesome Cookie Kick-Off events sell on average over one full case more cookies than girls who do not? Join us for a day of hockey and cookie fun, and help the girls in your troop dream bigger!

On January 16, we’ll be taking the ice with three local hockey teams in Mason City, Council Bluffs and Des Moines. Girls can show off their skating skills (or learn for the first time), earn their snazzy Cookie Pin, have a blast with broomball, and learn about the 5 Skills from older girls right in their community!

Parents and families can even join for the hockey game afterward, and participate in some great on-ice events throughout the night.

It’s going to be a great day, Girl Scouts – we hope we’ll see you there!

Want to spread the word? Check out the “Events” tab on our Facebook page and invite the Girl Scout families you know to these great kick-offs!
